Dear Professors,

It was a sunny day in Dallas. I was opening a dusky colon in the frozen section room. The scalpel blade was sharp. My gloves were thick. There was a big tumor staring back at me. The surgical margins were clear. I wrote down some notes. Then the phone rang. I walked over to the desk and answered it.

“Pathology.”

“Yes, this is Noah Kaufman. I hear you’re having legal troubles.”

“Wrong number.”

It rang again.

“Hello.”

“Did you auto-buy Bitcoin today?”

“Who is this?”

“It’s Noah Kaufman. Your over-reliance on traditional assets is making you have a scarcity mindset.”

“Go on.”

“The modern healthcare system is based on the 1971 decision by Richard Nixon to remove the US dollar from the gold standard. Also, CMS was created around the same time, which centralized all payment rates and decision-making to the federal government. That’s why you’re getting poorer and working harder. You need to find a way out. You need to become an Ubermensch.”

“What does that even mean?”

The line went dead.

I went back to my subterranean office-cave. Picked up a cup of single-origin Ethiopian coffee. Checked my bank accounts. My US dollars from 2022 were worth 75 cents. I could feel a spasm in my middle cerebral artery. Something wasn’t right.

Finished my work and hit the gym.

I knew I had to get this guy on my podcast.

The above conversation is fictional. I actually met Noah on X and wanted to support a self-published author. But the podcast with Noah Kaufman, MD a few weeks later was and is real. Physician-debt is real. Bitcoin is real. The decline of the US empire is real.

We had a great talk about medicine, “energism” and self-bitcoinization. I made a new friend in the mountains of Colorado.
